We’re thrilled to announce that Translink have come on board as our newest Corporate Partner at the Chamber! Translink is the accessible, inclusive, and green public transport provider, playing a vital role for people, planet, and prosperity in Northern Ireland, connecting people and places, and continuing the transformation of transport to ensure a better connected, healthier, and greener future.
An effective and successful public transport network is vital for the economic, social, and environmental wellbeing of everyone in Northern Ireland and Translink are committed to the transformation of transport and helping to deliver on Northern Ireland’s net zero targets.
The company has significant plans in place to increase passenger capacity, deliver infrastructure upgrades, enhanced connections, station investment, and ticketing and technology upgrades.
Translink also recently unveiled its new Zero Emission Foyle Metro bus fleet for Derry, making our city one of the first in the UK and Ireland to run a fully zero emission urban bus service. This is a huge vote of confidence in our region and an exciting development as we move on our journey towards net zero.
Public transport is key for the future of our people, our planet, and our prosperity. As we seek to address the climate crisis and restore our economy in challenging times, public transport is taking steps to decarbonise, re-connect communities, and revitalise town and city centres. Translink will play a vital role locally in helping Northern Ireland become more sustainable and more eco-friendly.
We’re delighted to be working even more closely with Translink and look forward to supporting their journey to decarbonisation over the coming years!
