Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is set to receive £72m of capital funding for a Growth Deal after the NI Executive agreed to match fund the UK Government’s Growth Deal allocation. The Growth Deal capital fund will be used to support digital and innovation and employability and skills projects.
North West Regional College (NWRC) are seeking Growth Deal funding for the development of a Foodovation and Skills Centre at their Limavady Campus with the aim of opening the facility in 2028/29
Foodovation Limavady would complement the extremely successful Foodovation Centre in Derry~ Londonderry providing a state-of-the-art facility that serves as a hub for food and drink development, technology and skills for both current and aspiring food and drink industry producers.
The range of services would include,
Research and Development: Helping businesses develop new food and drink products and improve existing ones.
Technical Advice: Providing industry specialists to ensure successful and sustainable routes to market.
Business Support: Offering hands-on support from experienced food and drink technologists and development chefs.
Training and skills: Training courses, masterclasses and mentorship.
Collaboration, Networking, and Innovation Opportunities: Connect, collaborate, and spark new ideas together:
NWRC are surveying artisan SMEs across the food and drink supply chain including producers and processors, hospitality and experience providers in order to provide evidence for, the demand for the proposed Centre, and the benefits that can be achieved through the supports it will provide.
