Presenter bios:
Dr Sandra Moffett, Head of Department
Dr Sandra Moffett is a Reader in Business Analytics and Head of the Ulster University Business School based on the Magee Campus. She is a core member of the Business and Management Research Institute contributing to the UK’s Research Excellence Framework with 3 and 4 star papers. Her expertise on Knowledge Management contributes to her being one of the UK leading authors in this field, she has over 100 internationally recognised publications. She has received a number of research awards and citations for her work. External funding has enabled Dr Moffett to undertake extensive quantitative/qualitative research to benchmark KM implementation within UK companies. Dr Moffett supports a number of UK and Ireland companies to design, implement and measure the performance of technical systems through consultancy and knowledge transfer projects.
Matthew Kearney, Business with Specialisms
Matthew Kearney is a Lecturer in Marketing, and is Course Director for Business with Specialisms, in the Department of Global Business and Enterprise at the Ulster University Business School in Magee. Matthew’s main research areas focus on consumer behaviour, consumer psychology, guerrilla marketing, digital marketing and tourism. He also engagesregularly in consultancy projects, and his research and expert opinion feature in hundreds of national and international media outlets.
Claire Scott McAteer, Accounting and Finance
Claire Scott McAteer is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser. She is a Lecturer in Accounting and Taxation at Ulster University, Magee. Claire completed her training contract with EY, Dublin before moving to PWC, Dublin. She also worked in general practice in the North West. Claire works extensivelywith Chartered Accountants Ireland at CAP1, CAP2 and final admitting stages in both ROI and UK tax publications, lecturing and examining. She is also chief examiner on the advanced strategy taxation paper for The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.
Clodagh Hegarty, Business Analytics
Clodagh Hegarty is a Lecturer in Accounting and Course Director of BSc (Hons) Business Analytics and BSc (Hons) Businesswith Combinations at UUBS Magee. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Chartered Tax Adviser. She is apast Chair of the ACCA Ireland Committee and a current board member of The Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA). Prior to academia, Clodagh spent 15 years’ working in practice with EY, Dublin and in general practice in the North West.
Lisa Harkness, Marketing
Lisa Harkness is a Lecturer in Marketing and Marketing subject co-ordinator at Ulster University Business School, Magee campus. Dr Harkness was awarded her PhD on the topic of services marketing in July 2017. She has published in The European Journal of Marketing and The International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management. Dr Harkness is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a past Vice Chair ofThe Chartered Institute of Marketing Ireland Board. Prior to academia Dr Harkness spend several years working in the retail sector.
Edel Griffin, International Business
Edel is a marketing professional and educator with over 20 years’ experience working across a wide range of self-funded projects and initiatives in both the private and public sectors. Edel is passionate about supporting and mentoring the next generation of marketers in the North West region, linking them with industry professionals and providing practice-based learning experiences. Edel leads the MSc International Business and Executive MBA programmes at Magee and teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate business and marketing modules. Finally, Edel provides marketing consultancy for business in the form of research and support to develop marketing and communications strategies.
