Popular passenger transport company and Londonderry Chamber member Aircoach has announced a new expansion of its service network, delivering enhanced connectivity and improving travel options for its passengers in the North West.
The company’s 705X route serves passengers travelling to both Belfast International and Dublin airports from Derry and between Belfast, Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre.
In response to customer demand, an enhanced version of this route is set to go live this Sunday 25th January, and will see passengers able to travel between its three Derry stops and Belfast Grand Central Station for the first time.
Aircoach will continue to serve all existing stops with its enhanced route, setting out to bolster its passenger offering with this additional connectivity.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy their journey in one of Aircoach’s new fleet of luxury coaches, following a recent investment of £3 Million to deliver improved features and upgrades, including onboard toilets, reclining seats, and high speed Wi-Fi. Tickets can now be prebooked for the new 705X timetable online at aircoach.ie.
Kim Swan, Managing Director of Aircoach said:
“We are committed to meeting the growing demand for reliable and trusted transport across the Island of Ireland.
“The launch of our new and improved 705X service will ensure our passengers remain both highly connected and receive an unrivalled service that evolves with customer needs.
Chamber warmly welcomes this announcement from Aircoach, which marks another important step in improving transport links in the North West.
Improved connectivity is essential for the economic growth of our region, with reliable and frequent transport links helping to support investment, tourism and workforce mobility. Investments like Aircoach’s help address long-standing connectivity challenges faced by the North West.
Critical to addressing these challenges is also the All Island Strategic Rail Review.
Of particular significance for the North West are the proposed major projects, including enhanced capacity and frequency on the Belfast–Derry route and the ambition to reinstate or develop a Portadown-Derry-Letterkenny line. These proposals have the potential to transform regional connectivity and address regional imbalance.
Derry Chamber looks forward to continued engagement with government departments and relevant stakeholders to ensure the North West’s connectivity priorities remain at the forefront of any future plans.
