Craft Training, established in 1994 by husband and wife duo Seamus and Marie Nealis from Strabane, is a family-owned enterprise that recently marked its 30th anniversary. The company has been honoured with a North West Business Award and received notable recognition from the Mayor of Derry for its significant contributions to the education sector in Northern Ireland.
Craft Training have over 30 years’ experience and are a leading supplier of training for qualifications and NVQ’s in Northern Ireland. Craft has a repertoire of over 60 courses on offer to learners of all ages from all walks of life.
At Craft Training, we offer a diverse array of vocational programs, including Professional Cookery, Professional Bakery, Food and Drink, Hospitality, Animal Care, Team Leading, Management, Retail, Warehouse and Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, ICT, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Site Joinery Levels 2 and 3, Bench Levels 2 and 3, Painting and Decorating, Plastering, Dry Lining, Bricklaying, and numerous additional fields.
Craft deliver two types of programmes, The Skills for Life and Work Programme available to learners aged 16-21. This course allows students to develop their skills and vocational knowledge in one of our specially built and bespoke training centres. The second is The NIApprenticeship Programme, where employees throughout N.Ireland can undertake a recognised qualification in line within their occupational area. Again, this allows employees to build their knowledge and confidence whilst increasing their skillset. With this qualification, the employer can avail of a grant funded by the Department for the Economy upon completion of the qualification. This programme is delivered at no cost to the employer.
Craft Training is currently focused on providing Level 3 Joinery courses, enabling construction workers to obtain their NVQ in accordance with upcoming government regulations affecting the CSR Card, which will take effect on December 31, 2024. Under these new rules, skilled workers will need to be registered or possess an NVQ Level 2 qualification or higher to renew their cards.
Craft provides an excellent selection of private qualifications, which encompass the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Operatives Test, Essential Skills in Communication, Application of Number, and ICT, along with professional certifications such as Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer Awards.
