Emily McCorkell, founder of Lo & Slo, has been shortlisted in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2026.

Recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious celebrations of entrepreneurship, the awards received more than 5,000 applications this year and celebrate the innovators, creators and business leaders driving economic growth across the UK.

Originally from Philadelphia and now based in Derry, Emily has built Lo & Slo into a distinctive food brand centred around authentic barbecue techniques and handcrafted products. Her range of BBQ sauces has earned a loyal following, with a focus on bringing together great flavour, quality ingredients and the art of low-and-slow cooking.

Reacting to the announcement, Emily described the shortlisting as “an immensely encouraging endorsement” of her longstanding passion for barbecue and grilling techniques that deliver healthier, more flavourful food.

Emily is among a select group of Northern Ireland entrepreneurs recognised in this year’s awards, highlighting the strength and innovation of businesses across the region.

Founded in 2012, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards have become a benchmark for entrepreneurial excellence, with many previous finalists and winners going on to become household names. The awards celebrate businesses that are investing, innovating, creating jobs and making a lasting impact on their industries and communities.

Everyone at Londonderry Chamber wishes Emily every success at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2026 and looks forward to seeing Lo & Slo continue to grow both locally and beyond.
