Join us at the Corinthian Ballroom in the City Hotel, Derry on Thursday 20th February to hear Dr Malachy Ó Néill and Professor Louise Dubras discuss the ongoing developments regarding the Medical school in Derry.
Professor Dubras oversees all aspects of the implementation and delivery of this visionary project, with a clear focus on strengthening the medical profession in Northern Ireland and improving patient care.
Prior to joining Ulster University, Professor Dubras was Deputy Dean ofMedical Education at King’s College London; which is home to the largest medical school in the UK. She also worked as a GP at Homeless Healthcare Team, Southampton, with special interest in substance misuse and mental illness; she is a council member of the Academy of Medical Educatorsand a board member of the Association for the Study of Medical Education.
Dr Malachy Ó Néill is an eminent academic in the field of Irish language and literature and Provost of the Magee campus. He is highly respected across the University for his tireless contribution to building academic communities across disciplines and faculties and his passion for the understanding of language in general and Irish in particular, his activitiesspan education sectors, from primary school through to higher education, with a consistent focus on civic engagement, academic research and international advocacy.
