Employ Clever – apprentice programmes to suit employers needs
There are many benefits for you as an employer to take part in an apprenticeship programme particularly that you can discover fresh talent and thinking to meet your business needs and grow together. Employing an apprentice is like recruiting any other employee.
National Minimum Wage rates for apprentices apply (the rate differs for Higher Level Apprenticeships) and an apprenticeship usually takes between two and four years to complete.
During this time, you will share your industry expertise and knowledge by providing mentoring and “on the job” training. Your apprentice will attend directed or “off the job” training (usually one day per week) to achieve the relevant industry qualifications and requirements which will be delivered by your chosen training contractor.
The North West Regional College HLA programmes offer employers an opportunity to ‘employ clever’ through an initiative which is aimed at addressing high-level skills shortages which are increasingly evident across the region. Their Apprenticeship NI programmes ensure the employee gets the training and qualificationsboth for their career and for what employers want.
