Go Succeed Grow Derry and Strabane Digital Transformation Peer Support Network

As part of our Go Succeed Growth Support, DCSDC Business Support team are establishing a Digital Transformation Programme to deliver specialist innovation support and peer learning for small business owners in the Derry and Strabane area, considering Digital Transformation projects. This series of four events is open to all businesses both technology-focused and non-tech businesses, to provide a unique opportunity to see technology in action and help map out the range of support available for Digital Transformation

Meet Maria McKeever on  Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 09:20 am at the Strand Road Entrance at the North West Regional College to meet with the NWRC Business Support innovation experts at the The XR Hub , located at NWRC Strand Road Campus.

Meet with the XR Hub Team  Emma Robinson, Aaron McKeever and Jim Murray (Manager) and learn more about what The XR HUB offers, including funded support for small businesses and access to cutting edge technology to help our local businesses see innovation in action.

They offer:

  • Video game development and digital animation
  • Film production
  • Surveying such as drone technology
  • Software development
  • Branding, graphic and packaging design across a range of sectors

Their Equipment

  • Cameras – Insta360 Pro 2 Camera, Theta Z1 and DJI Ronin 4D, 6K movie grade camera
  • Xsens motion capture suits
  • Drones: DJI FPV drone, DJI Mavic air and DJI Mavic 2 enterprise advanced drone
  • VR Headsets – Meta Quest.
  • HTC Vive: offering 6 degrees of movement to allow a high level of tracking, its development suite is connected to a high-end PC to allow speedy development and high-fidelity productions.

The Extended Reality (XR) Hub specialises in augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to support and upskill local entrepreneurs and businesses, with a range of VR and AR equipment and facilities that offer innovative technical expertise for

  • Software training
  • Product development
  • Process improvement and augmentation.

The XR Hub advises on both software and hardware packages to improve processes using toolsets, experience and advice to research and develop new possibilities with access to our facilities, and the skills necessary to do so.

This event is one of four series; the remainder will be hosted online and one in person to offer flexibility and ensure that participants can engage in the ongoing support provided through the network.
