 ’s 10X Economy paper\, NI is about to embark on a Decade of Innovation.\
 n\nInnovation is a high priority on the societal agenda both in the immedi
 ate and longer-term.\n\nAs companies prepare to build back after COVID-19a
 nd to prepare for Industry 4.0\, where can the innovation journey begin?Ho
 w ambitious should companies be? What supports exist in terms of research

 e LtdDr Timothy Patterson is Founder of Heysense Ltd which helps UK and Ir
 ish SMEs achieve their digital strategy through innovative and affordable 
 software development.\n\nFounded in 2019 heysense.io builds upon +10 years
  of professional experience developing bespoke Applications\, Sensor deplo
 yment / integration\, Machine Learning / Data Science and Cloud-based comp
 uting. Our one aim is to develop high-quality software that provides clear
  return on investment for our customers. We are based in Cookstown\, North
 ern Ireland\, home of sausages\, the Cookstown 100 and one of the longest\
 , widest streets in Ireland.\n\nDr Patterson was the Knowledge Transfer Pr
 oject Associate on the CDE Global and Ulster University project which will
  be presented today. The team developed the CDE CORE: SmartTech (Industria
 l Internet of Things product).\n\nSmartTech allows live monitoring and rec
 ording of machine performance giving insights into outputs of the machine 
 ad par performance. This can be used for many things from redesign and mac
 hine development to predicting maintenance and providing customers with a 
 window to the performance of their plant.\n\n\n\nDrJustin Quinn\, Director
  of the Centre for Engineering and Renewable Energy and Senior Lecturer at
  the School of Computing\, Engineering and Intelligent Systems at the Ulst
 er University Magee campus.\n\nJustin will play a key role in the establis
 hment of the Centre for Industrial Digitalisation\, Robotics and Automatio
 n (CIDRA) as part of the Derry & Strabane City Deal.\n\n
