Event Overview:

Presenter bios:

 Anna Doherty

Anna was appointed Interim Chief Executive of the Londonderry Chamber in March 2022.

Anna re-joined the Chamber team in February 2020 and worked closely with outgoing CEO, Paul Clancy, to support and inform members throughout the Covid pandemic. She previously worked with Chamber as Events Manager from April 2013 to July 2015 and spent the intervening years working in various membership, trade and awarding bodies, including BritishAmerican Business, the American Chamber in London.

Prior to 2013 Anna ran her own food business producing delicious ready-made cooking sauces for sale throughout Donegal and owned the award-winning Rusty Nail Pub and Restaurant in Clonmany for some years with her husband.  She also had sales and marketing roles in a number of Inishowen hotels.

 

 

Michael Burrows

Michael is an electrical engineer who brings over 35 years’ engineering experience to his role as our Managing Director. After gaining a Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Ulster University in the late 1970s, Michael began his career with Short Brothers in Belfast.

Since then, he’s worked with many companies both in Northern Irelandand across the globe, including Anglovaal Group in South Africa, B2B Engineering in Australia and Armenia, FIN Engineering, Veolia and Bombardier. Whilst in South Africa he gained his Electrical Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Mines and Works), and he also holds a National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).

Keen to addressNorthern Ireland’s skills shortage in the field of high voltage power supply, Michael founded Horizon in 2015. Feeling that it’s important to give something back, Michael launched the Horizon Training School in 2020to share his expertise, as well as delivering CPD accredited management awareness in electrical safety, high voltage and low voltage operational training courses to companies across Northern Ireland and further afield.

 

 

Sinead Brennan

Upon graduating from the University of Ulster, Sinead started her career in Dublin and has gained experience across a variety of industries both North & South of Ireland. She joined our team at the start of 2021 bringing 20 years experience across the Food Retail Sector, Franchise and Food Production to her currentrole. Sinead is a team player, she enjoys new challenges and the delivery of revenue growth.

A 17-year tenure with a franchisor as Field Director, provided Sinead with learning in many areas; to include the development of key strategies, recruitment and development of teams with the overall responsibility for HR and supporting of franchisees to achieve maximumprofitability through strong operations and KPI control. During her timein the role Sinead also became a franchisee of multiple stores.  The personal development and experience gained as a franchisee provided further understanding of challenges and opportunities experienced daily when running your own business. Since joining Horizon Sinead has supported in the delivery of business objectives and has successfully completed our Management Awareness in Electrical Safety course!
