Event Overview

The panel discussion will be around scaling businesses online and what is the founder mindset, with the aim of inspiring businesses to be more active online and how to approach scaling their own business with only global limitations.

The discussion will offer insight into Startup (Scott Wylie) vs Scaleup (Jonathan Black) and provide some exposure to the NI tech Ecosystem e.g. what support is out there for these types of businesses.

This session showcases two exciting young entrepreneurs at different stages of their business growth, demonstrating the opportunities available when you scale up online.

Panellist bios:

Gary Davidson, Entrepreneur Engagement Manager, Tech Nation

Gary empowers ambitious tech entrepreneurs to scale through knowledge, connections, growth programmes & acting as a point of contact within the Northern Ireland tech ecosystem.

He is also a mentor for Ulster Business School, Board Member on multiple charities & active in attracting UK investors via Northern Irish dealflow.

Scott Wylie, Co-Founder, PayHere

Scott is co-founder of fintech start-up payhere, their aim is to make online payments simple for everyone. Without any technical experience needed payhere lets you set up one-off, recurring or donation payments in minutes, you can then share the link with customers or use the one page website that is provided.

Payhere was born out of Alternate Labs, a software development agency who has, over the last 6 years, developed solutions for businessesworldwide, specialising in e-commerce.

Jonathan Black, Co-Founder, Blockception

Jonathan is an experienced finance director and business administrator. Co-Founding several companies within various sectors.

Forover eight years he’s been actively involved in the Games Industry, specializing in 3D Modelling and Level Design while using Minecraft as a platform for distribution. Blockception achieving over 12 million product downloads to date.
