SUMMARY:THE ‘RECOVERY IN MOTION’ CONFERENCE
DESCRIPTION:Most of us have faced challenges in our lives to some degree\, 
 and we have felt the satisfaction and self-respect that comes from confron
 ting and overcoming them.\n\nHowever\, the challenges faced by individuals
  struggling with addiction can be so deep and painful that they can affect
  their entire lives. The shame and powerlessness they cause can be paralys
 ing.\n\nThis September\, to coincide with ARC’s #morethanthat campaign\,
  they will host the Northern Ireland’s largest Addiction Recovery Confer
 ence with the aim of celebrating and highlighting the importance of hope a
 nd possibility.\n\nThe purpose of the ‘More than That’ theme is to ack
 nowledge the challenges addiction places on our communities whilst celebra
 ting that people can eventually recover and contribute to our society in n
 umerous and meaningful ways.\n\nHear from professionals\, academics\, and 
 importantly\, individuals with lived experience demonstrate that that anyo
 ne\, whatever their past\, has the courage and capacity to turn their life
  around\, and achieve great things.\n\nARC Fitness\, a Not-For-Profit addi
 ction recovery organisation based in the Northwest of Ireland is the 1st o
 rganisation in the UK to offer a structured exercise-based intervention as
  a treatment option for substance use disorder. Their approach in supporti
 ng individuals get and stay on the road to recovery has been highly commen
 ded.\n\nWe work hard\, tackling the stigma of substance use enabling indiv
 iduals and their supporters improve their mental and physical wellbeing th
