One of the premier events in the North West’s calendar, the Foyle Cup, will take place next week. This prestigious six-day tournament will feature an impressive 746 teams competing for the coveted silverware.

Record numbers of people are expected take to the streets of Derry next Monday July 15 for the vibrant annual Foyle Cup parade. Players and their families will set off from Ulster University’s Derry Campus  and make their way to Guildhall Square for an official welcome by Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Lillian Seenoi-Barr and Causeway Coast and Glens Mayor Ciaran McQuillan.

This year will see an astonishing 2,932 matches played, with teams represented from across Ireland, UK, Europe, and the United States.

These teams and matches will attract a substantial number of visitors to the city, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase Derry’s first-class businesses. It is anticipated that 13,000 players will participate in this week-long event, accompanied by over 200,000 spectators. Tourism NI projects that the event will generate expenditure exceeding £6 million.

This event provides a unique and valuable opportunity for the entrepreneurs of Derry to present their businesses to thousands of people.
