Derry Chamber swapped the boardroom for the big top this week as staff took part in a team-building day with In Your Space Circus – the Chamber President Andrew Fleming’s Chosen Charity for 2025.

The team tried their hands, and balance, at a range of circus skills including juggling, flower sticks, tightrope walking, and even unicycling. The workshop, run by In Your Space Circus’ expert facilitators, gave Chamber staff the chance to test patience, coordination, and teamwork in a fun and creative way.

In Your Space Circus, based in the heart of Derry, uses circus and street theatre as a tool to bring joy, build confidence, and foster inclusion across communities. From professional street theatre to youth workshops, the charity works with people of all ages and abilities to spark creativity and connection.

Speaking about the day, Chamber Chief Executive Anna Doherty said:
“Our team thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to step out of the office and experience the fantastic work of In Your Space Circus first-hand. The workshop was a brilliant way to strengthen teamwork, try something completely new, and most importantly, support a local organisation that is making such a positive impact in our community.

“We are proud to champion In Your Space Circus as the President’s Chosen Charity for 2025 and look forward to raising much-needed funds for their invaluable programmes at our Annual Dinner later this year.”
