Hunter Apparel Solutions has once again demonstrated why they are leaders in their field, winning both the Product Innovation Award and the Safety Solution Award at the BSIF (British Safety Industry Federation) Awards 2025. These prestigious accolades recognise Hunter’s continued commitment to safety and cutting-edge solutions in the workwear industry.

In the world of hospitality, Derry’s vibrant food scene was recognised at the Ulster Regional Irish Restaurant Awards 2025, with two local members taking top honours. Coupe secured the award for Best Use of Social Media, highlighting their creative engagement and strong brand presence online, while the Walled City Brewery was named Best Casual Dining, reinforcing its reputation as a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking an exceptional and relaxed dining experience.

On the global stage, Laura Bonner, Founder and CEO of The Muff Liquor Company, has been awarded the Great Companies “Top International Women Entrepreneur Award 2025”, marking her third consecutive year receiving this prestigious honour. Recognised for her outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, Laura’s achievement underscores the strength of female leadership and innovation coming from the North West.

In addition to these impressive wins, several North West-affiliated businesses have been shortlisted for the 2025 Workplace and Employment Awards, further underlining the region’s commitment to excellence in the workplace. Among them are Clare McGee of Awaken Hub (nominated for Business Leader of the Year – SME Business), FinTrU (nominated in two categories – Best Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and Best Graduate or Training Scheme – Large Business), Translink (nominated for Innovation in Workplace Technology – Large Business), Hastings Hotels (nominated for Best Employee Development Programme – Large Business), Diageo (nominated for Best Wellbeing in the Workplace Strategy – Large Business), and NFU Mutual (nominated for Best Place to Work – Small Business).

Adding to this run of achievements, thousands in Northern Ireland have been celebrating in the world of sport, as Rory McIlroy clinched a long-awaited Masters victory, completing his career Grand Slam in style. The timing couldn’t be more perfect as the region prepares to welcome the 153rd Open Championship to Royal Portrush this July, further shining a global spotlight on our region.
