Home Instead Foyle & Erne has marked its first year in business by giving back to the community in a special way. The home care provider, which supports older adults and those with disabilities across Derry/Londonderry, Tyrone, and Fermanagh, has donated emergency overnight bags to Altnagelvin Hospital’s Accident & Emergency Department.

The bags, filled with essential items, will be available to patients who face an unexpected hospital stay over the Christmas period. The initiative is designed to bring comfort and dignity to people during what can often be a stressful and uncertain time.

Since opening last year, Home Instead Foyle & Erne has grown steadily, offering services such as personal care, companionship, dementia support, and respite for families. The company prides itself on delivering person‑centred care that enables clients to remain independent in their own homes.

Owner, Garth Duncan said: “We are delighted to celebrate our first anniversary by supporting Altnagelvin Hospital. Our mission is to care with compassion, and this donation is a way of extending that care beyond the home and into the wider community.”

The gesture highlights Home Instead’s commitment not only to raising standards in home care but also to strengthening local ties. As the company looks ahead to its second year, it remains focused on delivering high‑quality care while continuing to support initiatives that make a difference in the North West.
