Invest NI’s Brexit team is currently working with the Freight Transport Association to plan a half day logistics workshops for businesses involved in cross border and EU trading.

This workshop is aimed at both buyers and providers of logistic services (including in-house logistics) between Northern Ireland and the European Union, including the Republic of Ireland.

The FTA will be reviewing the content to ensure it is in line with the latest Brexit position. It will cover end to end European supply chain movements focusing on the procedures and responsibilities that will arise including a No Deal Brexit. This is not an in-depth customs workshop, instead at the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

  • Understand the different impacts on freight movements between Northern Ireland and the EU of different Brexit scenarios
  • Describe the intended border procedures & responsibilities of traders (importers and exporters) for freight movements to and from the EU, in the event of a No Deal Brexit.
  • Understand the publicly stated intentions for the management of the NI/Republic of Ireland land border, at the time of Workshop delivery and the consequential operational procedures and responsibilities that could follow.
