The North West Regional College in conjuction with Hawthorn Heights Ltd, are seeking applications for a Design Development Consultant as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) for a two year position.

This role will involve developing new inclusive play park products. Utilising BIM technologies, process improvement, and new XR technologies, the associate will be responsible for implementing these to enhance Inclusive Design throughout the companies’ processes.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PARTNERSHIP (KTP)

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way project between a company, in this case Hawthorn Heights (HH), an academic institute (such as the NWRC) and a graduate (known as an Associate), which enables the transfer of knowledge, technology and skills to which the company currently has no access.

A KTP can help graduates to enhance their career prospects by providing them with an opportunity to manage a challenging project, which allows them to use their qualification, and is central to a company’s strategic development and long-term growth. Whilst the Associate leads the KTP project, they are supported by experienced staff from the company and the College. They are also assigned a KTP Adviser, who supports them in maintaining good working relationships within the partnership and in planning their professional development in broad terms.

The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme and this project is funded by Innovate UK in partnership with Invest NI. For more information, visit http://ktp.innovateuk.org.
