Celebrate Bach’s 340th Anniversary with the famous Brandenburg Concertos and special guest, Irish soprano Anna Devin (pictured).
Le Foyer des Artistes is delighted to announce the launch of its much anticipated third season with the Midwinter Gala Concert on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, at 7:30 PM at St Columb’s Hall, Derry.
This evening will celebrate the 340th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach with performances of three of his Brandenburg Concertos, (2,4, 5) performed on period baroque instruments by the distinguished ensemble.
Internationally acclaimed Irish soprano Anna Devin will join Le Foyer des Artistes for the evening. Known for her radiant voice and captivating interpretations, Devin has dazzled audiences at prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opernhaus Zurich, and the Glyndebourne Opera and Teatro Real Madrid. She is especially known for her interpretation of leading ladies, notably Clotilde (Handel’s Faramondo), for which she won a Helpmann Award, Semele (Handel’s Semele) – “sparkling like the best champagne”, Cleopatra (Handel’s Giulio Cesare) – “one of the finest London has heard”, Susanna (Mozart Le Nozze di Figaro) – “the Susanna of your dreams”.
“This is going to be an unmissable celebration of Bach’s timeless genius,” says Darren Hargan, Founder and Conductor of Le Foyer des Artistes. “We’re thrilled to welcome Irish Soprano Anna Devin for this evening. Looking ahead, I am confident that our Concert Season in Derry in 2025 will have something to offer for all ages.
