Strabane’s business community has delivered a strong vote of confidence in the town’s future, with 93% of businesses voting to support Love Strabane continuing its work for a further five years.
The renewal ballot result will see Love Strabane, formerly known as Strabane BID, enter its third term in November 2026, with a new mandate running until October 2031.
The result reflects the business community’s continued commitment to working collectively to strengthen Strabane town centre, support local enterprise and maximise the opportunities presented by investment and regeneration across the town.
Established in 2016, Love Strabane is a business-led, not-for-profit organisation focused on making Strabane a better place to live, work, and invest in. Its work brings businesses and stakeholders together to improve the trading environment and represent the interests of the local business community.
The renewed mandate comes at an important time for Strabane, with public realm improvements underway, the City Deal regeneration programme progressing and the town pursuing its ambition to become Town of Culture 2028.
Under its new five-year Business Plan, Love Strabane will invest approximately £650,000 directly into the town centre. Priorities include targeted marketing campaigns, events and festivals designed to encourage footfall, as well as dedicated support for local businesses.
The organisation will also continue to provide a dedicated Town Centre Manager to represent local businesses and advocate on their behalf on operational and strategic issues.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Grace Uí Niallais, welcomed the outcome, recognising the confidence businesses have placed in Love Strabane and the importance of a united business community in shaping the town’s future.
For Strabane, the renewal provides continuity and a clear platform for the next phase of town centre development. With businesses backing a shared plan for the years ahead, Love Strabane will continue to play a key role in connecting local enterprise with regeneration opportunities and supporting a more vibrant and sustainable town centre.
The progress of Strabane is an important part of the wider North West’s economic development, with confident businesses and coordinated regeneration helping to strengthen our region and contribute to its long-term growth and prosperity.
