Allstate has announced that Aidan O’Kane has been promoted to Director. Aidan will be leading the Allstate Business Line Enablement Technology group within Allstate Northern Ireland whilst continuing his Leadership role within Allstate Canada, where he currently holds the position of Director of Production Health.

Allstate was established in Northern Ireland in 1998 to provide high quality software development services and business solutions in support of its parent company, The Allstate Corporation. Allstate is now Northern Ireland’s largest IT company with over 2400 employees across three sites in Belfast, Derry-Londonderry, and Strabane. Allstate is a major centre for innovative software development, covering the full software lifecycle of design, development, maintenance and support.

Aidan, who is based in Allstate NI’s Derry office, is driving production support strategy and vision for Allstate, through his global organisation across three different time zones. Since graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Aidan has worked in a number of global organisations including Ericsson, NEC, Answer Financial, Encompass Insurance, and Allstate.

He has lived and worked in locations across the globe including Europe, South America and Australia. Aidan brings almost 25 years of Software Engineering experience to the role and has built out teams comprising of many different engineering disciplines, including Developers, BAs, Product Managers, Test Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers.

Aidan is also an active member of the Chamber and sits on the Chamber’s Council. He recently met with the Fintech Envoy of Northern Ireland, Andrew Jenkins, as part of a Chamber delegation to explore the potential of the sector in the North West. Aidan will also be taking part in a Chamber Café Conversations event on 13 May to discuss the growing fintech sector in Northern Ireland.

Allstate is one of Northern Ireland’s largest and most well-known companies and it’s a privilege to work with such talented and inspiring colleagues daily. Fintech and financial services are burgeoning and growing industries up here in the North West and we’re seeing more growth and innovation in the local sector all the time. At the end of last year we had a visit from the Fintech Envoy for Northern Ireland, Andrew Jenkins and I am working closely with him to further grow the sector in the North West.”
