Following a successful opening to the second season at St Columb’s Hall in December 2023, Le Foyer des Artistesreturns on 21 February in partnership with YAMAHA MUSIC EUROPE for a piano spectacular – the St Columb’s Hall Concerto Award.

3 outstanding young pianists have been selected to play in the prestigious event – Andy Deng Australia, Siyi Dai China, and Joanna Lam China – which promises to be a unforgettable evening of technical and musical brilliance.

Sponsored by ChallengeCurve, the St Columb’s Hall Concerto Award is a celebration of the Founder of the city and the ancient cultural legacy of his contemporaries who for centuries have travelled from Ireland, across the world, to inspire people with their art.

This event marks the first major international collaboration for Le Foyer des Artistes with Juventudes Musicales di Granada in Spain. Founded in 1961, it’s the country’s oldest and most prestigious Associations for the promotion and development of young talented artists.

The winner of the St Columb’s Hall Concerto Award 2024 will travel to Granada in April to play a concert at the famous Auditorio Manuel de Falla, a spectacular concert hall in the heart of the historic city, before returning to play at the Midsummer Gala Concert in Derry on 6 June, 2024.

Commenting on the new collaboration, Presidente, Dolores María Hernández Muñoz commented

‘We are thrilled about this new collaboration with Le Foyer des Artistes and St Columb’s Hall. We look forward to travelling to Derry in February and we can’t wait to welcome the winner of the Award to Granada to play at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, named after one of Spain’s greatest composers. It will be a celebration of the bond of Celtic culture which binds our lands’
