In what has been a very challenging climate for businesses operating in the food-to-go industry, the NI Food To Go Association has been at the forefront of ensuring that the priorities and concerns of these businesses are heard and addressed. The Association understands the difficulties of running a food business, and their team are available to ease the burdens on store owners by providing a wide range of business services, including advice, support, discount schemes, training, and recruitment support, while also providing a strong industry voice at all levels of government.

In this spirit, the Association has organised the NI Food To Go Roadshow in partnership with Derry Chamber and other stakeholders that will take place on September 24th in the Guildhall from 10am to 6pm. A premier event for industry professionals to network, learn, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in the food-to-go sector, the event will offer individuals the opportunity to explore the latest in green utilities and sustainability initiatives to help their business reduce its environmental impact and enhance its eco-friendly practices. Industry professionals will also be offered access to unique deals from over 20 suppliers, providing them with the opportunity to discover new products and services that can benefit their business.

The NI Food To Go Association is here to bring stakeholders together to unite for representation and unite the food-to-go industry across our region, and is why a key feature their Roadshow is to network and connect. The Roadshow offers the opportunity to meet industry leaders and innovators all in one place, and is a chance for business owners to forge valuable connections and discuss the latest developments in the food-to-go industry. Also on offer at the Roadshow is the chance to engage with representatives from the Council, Invest NI, and other key organisations, where industry professionals can benefit from their knowledge and experience to move businesses forward.

The NI food to go industry is facing a difficult economic climate, and in the face of challenging times, business owners can rest assured that the NI Food To Go Association will be there to lobby for, advise, and support your business every step of the way. In Derry alone, this difficult environment has been acutely felt, with 14 takeaways closing in a three-month period in 2022. 2024 has also seen a number of popular takeaways and coffee shops such as Pure Bird, Bridie’s and Bron close their doors due to the economic pressures currently faced by such businesses.

Along with the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association, the Roadshow is hosted by Henderson Food Service, in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council, the Utility Regulator, Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, LegenDerry Food, and Invest Northern Ireland.
