NI Maths Fest is a not-for-profit event aimed at developing a love of maths. The inaugural event in February 2025 saw more than 850 pupils participate and enjoy various maths projects at the Guildhall in Derry-Londonderry.
In 2026, the NI Maths Fest Team aim to double the event’s impact by supporting up to 34 primary and post-primary schools to attend. They are hoping to develop partnerships with Ulster’s leading companies to increase community engagement and to showcase the great work and innovation that is happening in our region.
Why Support NI Maths Fest 2026?
- Supporting the Maths Fest by offering to support an element of the programme financially allows companies to showcase their organisation as invested in the future of our region’s young people.
- NI Maths Fest is the first event of its kind in Northern Ireland, and we are very proud that this is happening in Derry-Londonderry.
- Supporting NI Maths Fest demonstrates to your clients, community and team that you are enabling innovation in our region and the development of fundamental life skills in our children.
- Due to the increased size of NI Maths Fest 2026, the increase of the geographic spread of schools attending from Down to Donegal, and the success of NI Maths Fest 2025, we a likely to receive significant media attention from national, regional and local media platforms and we will provide a platform to highlight our partners and request that they feature in radio and television interviews.
- In addition, we are very open to working in partnership with our supporters to promote awareness of relevant campaigns or initiatives that they may wish to run in tandem with NI Maths Fest.
We very much appreciate interest and support in NI Maths Fest and would be delighted to discuss any ideas that potential partners have regarding further promotion of their support or interact with their organisations.
So far, we have 26 schools registered to attend. The theme for this year’s event is Maths Across Cultures. Through the festival, we aim to present various interesting mathematical concepts and facts from different countries and cultures which still apply today, and many of us are still unaware of. Take this fun fact – did you know a deck of cards is actually a mini calendar in your hands? Learn about many such fun facts at the Maths Fest.
