Chamber members can now book a year long, role specific AI training license designed for real business use

The North West AI Masterclass, a Chamber backed training offer designed to help staff use artificial intelligence confidently, ethically and responsibly in day to day work.

Powered by PAIR, the Masterclass is being offered in partnership with Londonderry Chamber, NI Chamber, Letterkenny Chamber and Causeway Chamber. It gives learners 12 months’ access to flexible, self-paced training, with three progressive levels: Fundamentals, Proficiency and Mastery. The programme also includes role-specific assignments, instant feedback, LinkedIn certification and 24/7 platform access.

What makes this different from generic online courses or free AI tutorials is its focus on applied learning. Participants create a profile based on their role, organisations and priorities, so the exercises, prompts and assignments are tailored to the work they actually do. The aim is not simply to understand AI in theory but to use it well in areas such as communications, research, analysis, idea generation, data insights and decision making.

The platform also helps learners practice using the tools businesses are already exploring including free and paid versions of large language models such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Content includes practical challenges and specialisms such as data analysis and visualisation, Agent Mode in Excel, image generation, prototyping with tools such as Lovable and workplace tasks designed to help users move from experimenting with AI to applying it with purpose.

This matters because the biggest barrier to AI adoption is often not the technology itself, but confidence and capability inside teams. Research by GCD and the Institute of Directors Northern Ireland found that lack of knowledge and expertise are among the main reasons businesses here have not yet adopted AI, while strategic adopters point to lack of in-house skills and resistance to change as common challenges. That is where the Masterclass is different: “Every assignment, prompt and task is bespoke”, with role-specific practice that helps staff apply AI directly to their day-to-day work. For businesses interested in AI, it offers a practical way to build awareness, support staff, and adopt AI more ethically and responsibly.

For local firms, the message is clear: if AI is changing how businesses operate, but the biggest gains are likely to come from staff having the confidence, judgement and practical skills to use it safely and effectively.

Bookings are now open. Chamber members can access the Masterclass for £169+VAT per license, with non members places available at £199+VAT per license. For further information or group bookings contact Josh Kyle at joshk@londonderrychamber.co.uk
