This week the Chamber team have been busy strengthening our global connections with visitors from London and a trip to Downing Street for our Chief Executive Anna Doherty.

Chamber Chief Executive, Anna Doherty, spent Monday evening representing the North West at a reception hosted by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak MP, at 10 Downing Street in celebration of the culture of Northern Ireland. The reception was attended by a number of local businesses who had the opportunity to showcase some of their finest produce, as well as some performances by Northern Ireland’s artists.

Today, the 695th Lord Mayor of the City of London, Professor Michael Mainelli will visit Derry. The Lord Mayor comes to the city to meet with our President Selina Horshi, Vice President Greg McCann, Deputy President Andrew Fleming and some of our business leaders, to explore trade and investment opportunities between the North West and the City of London.

It has been a very busy week for the Chamber, as we have continued to ensure our members are given the best chance to thrive in these uncertain times.

The publication of the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement this week and the OBR forecast shows that the economy is growing more slowly than predicted and that businesses continue to operate in a challenging environment, but the Chamber team will make the most of every opportunity it can to fly the flag for the North West City Region and the businesses who operate here.
