Please be aware that Translink will be carrying out planned essential engineering work on the railway line in the Belfast area between Sunday 25th December and Monday 2nd January inclusive, as well as Sunday 8th January 2023.

As a result, there will be a partial closure of the Derry~Londonderry rail line, with bus substitution services operating between Antrim and Belfast Lanyon Place and Great Victoria Street. NI Railways services will operate as normal between Derry~Londonderry and Antrim.

Passengers are strongly encouraged to plan their journey before they travel.  Railway tickets will be accepted on Goldliner 212 and 218 services during these periods, as well as on scheduled Metro services in Belfast.

Passengers using Mossley West train station should use Metro 1d services to connect to Belfast city centre.

The Larne line will also be closed during the same period, with bus substitution services operating between the two main Belfast stations and all stations to Larne Harbour, bar Clipperstown.   Bangor, Portadown and cross-border lines will remain open with a holiday timetable in place.

Please note that no NI Railways services will operate on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I hope you will find this of use.  Additional detail can be found online at www.translink.co.uk/CATR or on our social media networks by searching ‘#NIRailworks’.

A Passenger Information Day will take place in Layon Place Station in Belfast on Wednesday 30th November.  Furthermore, a public webinar event will be organised via the www.translink.co.uk/CATR webpage on Thursday 1st December.  We will also be going out with a public information campaign in the coming days and would appreciate any additional support you can lend to this once our messaging goes live.
