UV Arts is a community interest company (CIC) set up primarily to benefit the local community. Much of their work is street art, and you will see it across our city from the Derry Girls, ‘Derry Lama’ murals, and much more. Karl Porter and his team are involved in many creative and collaborative projects across the North West. Today, they have announced fantastic news.

The company has just taken up residence in the Garden of Reflection Gallery and will open the city’s first urban arts gallery and independent arts store. Their new gallery means that UV Arts are to be the Chamber’s new neighbours in the heart of the city centre.

On the first week of September, to launch the new store, UV Arts will host their street art festival to coincide with the Cathedral Quarter weekend. From 1-6 September, make sure to check out the fantastic artwork and visual narrative that the company is creating for our city. The Street Art festival will focus on Irish street artists stories from around the world and feature seven new artworks, creating a trail of murals across Derry.

Karl has long-term goals to set up an international arts residency programme, create a headline tourism product and new alternative arts and cultural spaces. The Chamber team wish his company the very best as they continue their fantastic expansion across the North West.
