This webinar for Chamber members aims to provide a full update on the free-to-use digital Trader Support Service.
The TSS provides guidance and helps businesses and traders of all sizes to navigate the changes to the way goods move once the Northern Ireland protocolcame into effect on 1 January 2021.
Since TSS went live on 21st December, there have been a number of key enhancements and releases to the TSS service. This webinar will cover:

Presenter bios:
Shanker Singham, Competere
Shanker Singham is Chief Executive Officer of Competere. He is Chairman of GENN, Chairman of Global Vision and an academic fellow to the IEA. Shanker has recently be appointed to the Trade and Agriculture Commission. He sits on the Wilton Park Advisory Committee and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Bretton Woods Committee. Shanker was an advisor to the US Trade Representative and to theUK Trade Secretary on international trade issues and is a non-Government Adviser to the International Competition Network. He is one of the world’s leading international trade, and competition experts and a regular commentator on TV, radio and in newspapers. Shanker has chaired the market access/WTO practices of two global law firms.
He has authored over 100 articles and book chapters, as well as the leading textbook on the interfacebetween trade, competition and regulatory issues.
Frank Dunsmuir, Fujitsu
Frank leads Fujitsu’s International Trade and Customs practice, advising on the applications of technology in a UK future border strategy and solutions to the more immediate EU exit challenges. As the lead technology advisor to the Alternative Arrangements Commission, he gained in-depthknowledge of the complex implications on Northern Ireland trade and how technology may support addressing these.
He is a Non-Executive Director ofIBMATA (International Border Management And Technologies Association) a not for profit organisation (NGO) committed to the safe and secure movementof people and goods across international borders. Working with the Technical University of Munich he is developing technology strategies which support economic growth in developing regions through the use of Special Economic Zones. Frank has published several points of view on the Future Borderand provided the technical content for a response to the Chancellors Freeport Consultation document.
Kevin Shakespeare, Institute of Export and International Trade
Kevin is a key member of the Institute’s management team and an energetic and self-motivated individual with a strong knowledge of education, trade and finance and international trade, built up overmany years in senior management positions. His experience includes delivering year on year sales growth of 15%+, managing revenue lines totaling more than £50m.
He has managed top 100 banking connections in HBOS covering International Trade strategy and procedures, including Sports Direct,Alexander Dennis and innocent Drinks. Supported complex International Trade structures.
Kevin has been instrumental in winning large financial services and trade finance business with connections such as Arcadia, innocent Drinks and Towergate Insurance, and supported international trade growth in a number of SME exporting businesses.
Kevin was a member of the Bank of Scotland Management Development Programme supporting top talent in the business leading large teams in diverse locations with different skills sets.
Kevin has developed trade and customs qualification programmes and delivered specific learning programmes to large organisations including Scottish Enterprise, UK Export Finance, Invest Northern Ireland, BarclaysBank, Bolero and Coface. Kevin has also led overseas trade initiatives in Estonia, Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.
Daniel Garnon, Institute of Export and International Trade
Dan is a Customs Consultant with the Institute. He has extensive international trade and export compliance experience obtained in senior management appointments in public and private sector global organisations, working in multiple business areas in the UK and overseas. Dan has a varied background which started in military logistics wherehe commanded large logistics organisations with up to 260 multi-disciplinary and multinational staff, inventory circa £310m and budget of £180m p.a. He then moved into specialist defence, police and special forces equipment UK and international sales. In his previous role as Head of Export Control for an aerospace & defence sector FTSE 100 company he led global export control compliance assurance activities and the strategic drivefor increased use of technology-based compliance solutions. As the company’s Trade Compliance Lead for a global transformation programme centred on product, data, process and system integration, simplification and digitisation, he created the principles and vision to benefit 28,000 personnel and contingent workers, secure operating benefits of £5.5m and riskmitigation of circa £500m
