Following on from the success of the North West Future of Energy Conference last November, we at the Chamber are planning an exciting series of events to kick off our NetZero campaign. What better way to improve your company’s green credentials and help protect our planet.
As announced at the Future of Energy Conference, our friends and colleagues at Foyle Port are sponsoring a tree planting scheme to highlight our Net Zero campaign. A grand total of one hundred trees will be planted by the Woodland Trust, which is one tree for every attendee at the conference.
Over the course of this year we will provide workshops, events and guidance to businesses seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and reach net zero. We have already announced the first workshop as outlined below, with more to follow in due course:
A workshop on ‘Getting to Net Zero’ will take place on Friday 19 January in the Academy Suite of the North West Regional College from 10am-12pm. In this engaging session, facilitator Will Ennett will outline how any size or type of company can take the first step in getting to Net Zero and how you can start to look at your carbon footprint and take steps to reduce your impact on the environment.
There will also be a Sustainable Business Breakfast Session held in collaboration with Derry City and Strabane District Council. The breakfast will take place on Tuesday 13 February and booking details will be available soon.
More events will be announced in due course and the Chamber team, through the Net Zero Series, will work hard to make sure that we are there every step of the way to guide our members on how to be sustainable businesses and work towards net zero in the North West. Limited places are available for the Getting to Net Zero workshop on 19th January. Book HERE
